Matt is an in demand London based guitarist and composer, with a distinct musical approach that takes inspiration from many different genres. He can be regularly seen performing around London and the UK in a variety of creative projects, as well as leading his own ensembles.

Originally gowing up in Dorset, Matt went on to attend the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where Matt had the privilege of studying jazz and classical guitar, being taught by some of the UK's finest musicians including John Parricelli, Phil Robson, Colin Oxley, Barak Schmool, Adam Goldsmith, Martin Speake and Malcolm Edmonstone. After completing an undergraduate degree, Matt was awarded an Artist Fellowship of the school, an honorary additional year in association with the school to enhance professional artistic development.

Matt has performed in a number of world renowned venues and festivals including: Wigmore Hall, The Barbican Centre, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club, Cadogan Hall and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

He has played in a wide variety of settings, from improvised solo concerts to full scale orchestral premiers, and has performed with artists such as Jorge Rossy, Anthony Strong, The Southbank Sinfonia and Tim Garland.

Matt is also in demand as a session musician, recording for high profile Media companies such as 'Mcasso'. Recent recording highlights include recordings for; BBC One, BBC Maida Vale Studios, BBC Radio 4, Sky Sports, Channel 4 and NBC.

A highly versatile and creative musician with an eclectic range of influences including Bill Frisell, Wayne Shorter, Steve Reich, Jim Hall, Ornette Coleman, Bob Dylan, Björk, Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny, Jimi Hendrix, Sonny Rollins, Mark Ribot, Radiohead, Joni Mitchell and Miles Davis.

Matt is also a passionate educator, teaching students of a wide range of abilities and ages to an exceptionally high standard.
